Here at Uprise Energy we take pride in being on the bleeding edge of new technology. In fact, we often reflect on how our portable wind turbine, with its innovative features, could not have been built 10 years ago. It is our desire to create the best clean energy product available and deliver it to the places where there is the greatest need for an off grid energy source.

Gaining recognition for our efforts is always exciting. It gives us great pleasure to say that we have been voted a finalist in Connect San Diego’s 32nd annual Most Innovative New Product Awards. The final decision for the winner will be announced on December 5th, 2019.

If you are unfamiliar with the Most Innovative New Product (MIP) Awards, it is an annual event put on by Connect recognizing new companies in San Diego driving innovation. Past winners in the “Cleantech” category include Primo Wind and Amionx’s SafeCore. The winners are decided by a panel of local industry experts.

The Uprise Energy portable wind turbine has been selected as a finalist with two other excellent local cleantech companies. When asked about the competition, Uprise Energy co-founder Jonathan Knight stated that it would be unfair to categorize the other companies as competition since we all have the same goal of making the world better through innovation. He is thankful that Connect is putting the spotlight on startups trying to make a difference.
