We did something today that we believe has never been done before. By anyone. Ever.
And we are very excited about it.
On Tuesday, September 22nd, we did the following:
We hooked up and towed our mobile power station on US highways to a test location 12 miles (20 km) away.
We set up the wind turbine.
We ran the turbine for a little over an hour in wind conditions of 13 - 17 mph (5.8 - 7.6 m/s).
In that hour, we generated instantaneous power ranging from 4-7kW !!!
We returned the turbine to the towing configuration.
We towed it back to our facility.
This all happened in under four hours.
Put a different way, this test demonstrated that our Portable Wind Turbine is fully capable of performing the primary task it was designed for. With little to no advanced notice, we can relocate to an area that has a need for power, generate enough power to fully electrify up to 10 US homes, and then bring it back to Uprise headquarters. In 4 hours. Generating zero greenhouse gasses while generating the power. This by itself is amazing.
While discussing the day’s success, Uprise Energy CEO Jonathan Knight brought up something important that is often overlooked. The Mobile Power Station has power storage integrated into the machine. In real world scenarios, the batteries will already be fully charged when it is brought to a location. So immediately upon arrival it can begin providing power where needed. The wind turbine will constantly be keeping the batteries charged as the power is being used. In wind conditions that are likely to prevail, this will never run out.
Taking that into consideration, the time required to bring ready to use power to the location in our example was approximately 30 minutes. The rest of the time was spent demonstrating how much power usage we can sustain over time. In one hour of testing we generated enough power to cover an average of 6 kw of use (6 kwh). So in 30 minutes there was power available, and we were able to produce enough power to cover up to 6 kwh of usage. Even more amazing!
Nobody else can do this. Just the amount of power we can generate in low wind conditions due to our proprietary blade design and Dancing with the Wind technology greatly exceeds any competition we have. And we are mobile, which is completely unique to Uprise Energy.
