Uprise Energy was selected to partake in the “VERGE Accelerate” online event this year, also referred to as “VERGE 20.” The event is a program designed to accelerate the clean economy by helping startups who have innovative new ideas and technology. The VERGE series of events is put on by GreenBiz, a media and events company that is highly respected in the environmental sustainability industry. From the VERGE 20 website:
The VERGE 20 online event is the leading platform for accelerating the clean economy. Join more than 10,000 leaders — from the private and public sectors, utilities, solution providers, investors, and startups — advancing systemic solutions to address the climate crisis through five key markets: clean energy, electrified transportation, the circular economy, carbon removal and sustainable food systems.
This is a prestigious event and we are very proud to have been selected. In each of the five categories, only five companies were selected out of thousands of applicants. We were in the “clean energy” category.
Yesterday, October 28th 2020, Uprise Energy’s CEO Jonathan Knight provided a 2 ½ minute online presentation - referred to as a “fast pitch” - followed up by a short Q & A. After all five companies made their presentation, there was a voting period where the viewers were able to vote for a winner. Uprise Energy was the winner of our category. This allows us to proceed to the “Finals” where the winners of each category get to present again, and a champion will be selected, again by votes from the viewers. The finalists are:
Carbon finalist: ConserWater Technologies, Aadith Moorthy, Founder & CEO
Energy finalist: Uprise Energy, Jonathan Knight, Co-founder & CEO
Circular finalist: change:WATER Labs, Diana Yousef, Founder & CEO
Transport finalist: Flux, Andrew Krulewitz, Co-founder & CEO
Food finalist: eggXYt, Yehuda Elram, Co-founder & CEO
The finals is an opportunity for Uprise Energy to present to “thousands of business leaders, government officials and investors.” Winning the finals competition would be a major benefit for us in terms of exposure and the potential for making new connections in the industry.
Mr. Knight and all of Uprise Energy are grateful to all the people who showed us support by voting for us in the first event. We would be greatly appreciative if we receive the same support for the finals which will occur Friday, October 29th, 2020. Presentations start at 10:15 am pacific time. We will update this post when we have a specific time for our presentation.
UPDATE: The event starts at 10:15 am pacific time. The five presentations are 2 1/2 minutes each, and Uprise Energy is second in line. The voting happens shortly after and is not open for very long. If you would like to vote for us, please be sure to be registered and ready during this timeframe. Thank you!
