Today is a beautiful and sunny day here in Southern California. Our shop is buzzing with activity and we have a lot to report. In fact, there is so much to report that we will be releasing a series of blog posts in the following days and weeks highlighting several exciting new ventures for Uprise Energy and our Portable Wind Turbine. But for now, here is a brief overview of what is upcoming.
Cost of a Kilowatt - Diesel Generator Analysis
Comparing Costs and Carbon Dioxide Emissions of Diesel Generators vs Wind Turbines
The impetus for this report was a question: “If you used an Uprise Mobile Power Station instead of a diesel generator, how many trees would it take to match the carbon offset?” In other words, diesel generators emit a significant amount of carbon dioxide in the process of generating electricity; the Mobile Power Station, on the other hand, generates carbon-free electricity. Therefore, how many trees would it take to absorb an equivalent amount of carbon dioxide as would be saved when generating electricity from a Mobile Power Station instead of a diesel generator? Internally, we performed a thorough study to answer this question which resulted in a comprehensive Engineering Report.
Idaho National Labs - Part 2
Uprise Energy has formed a partnership with Idaho National Laboratories (INL), a division of the US Department of Energy, to develop innovative renewable energy systems for distributed microgrid applications. To consummate the partnership, INL purchased an Uprise Energy 10kW portable wind turbine for R&D and demonstration purposes. The purpose of choosing these charts to use in this blog was simply to show visually that the power generated by the MPS varies closely with the wind speed.
Idaho National Labs - Part 1
It was right at this moment that history was made. Never before has a portable wind powered power generator been towed over a thousand miles on US highways, across several states, set up in less than an hour of reaching the final destination, and immediately able to flow 9 kW into an on site device. This is exactly the technology that everyone in the energy industry is speculating about right now. And this shows that we have it and it works flawlessly.
Another victory for Uprise Energy
Uprise Energy was selected to partake in the “VERGE Accelerate” online event this year, also referred to as “VERGE 20.” The event is a program designed to accelerate the clean economy by helping startups who have innovative new ideas and technology. The VERGE series of events is put on by GreenBiz, a media and events company that is highly respected in the environmental sustainability industry. From the VERGE 20 website:
