Uprise Energy has formed a partnership with Idaho National Laboratories (INL), a division of the US Department of Energy, to develop innovative renewable energy systems for distributed microgrid applications. To consummate the partnership, INL purchased an Uprise Energy 10kW portable wind turbine for R&D and demonstration purposes. The purpose of choosing these charts to use in this blog was simply to show visually that the power generated by the MPS varies closely with the wind speed.
Idaho National Labs - Part 1
It was right at this moment that history was made. Never before has a portable wind powered power generator been towed over a thousand miles on US highways, across several states, set up in less than an hour of reaching the final destination, and immediately able to flow 9 kW into an on site device. This is exactly the technology that everyone in the energy industry is speculating about right now. And this shows that we have it and it works flawlessly.
Another victory for Uprise Energy
Uprise Energy was selected to partake in the “VERGE Accelerate” online event this year, also referred to as “VERGE 20.” The event is a program designed to accelerate the clean economy by helping startups who have innovative new ideas and technology. The VERGE series of events is put on by GreenBiz, a media and events company that is highly respected in the environmental sustainability industry. From the VERGE 20 website:
We did something that has never been done before!
Wind Turbine Performance Exceeding Expectations
We have very exciting news to share! One of the primary benefits of our Portable Wind Turbine is the fact that it will generate electricity in much lower wind speed conditions than traditional wind turbines. This is possible due to many factors, but two key features are: the efficiency of our wind blade design and our proprietary Dancing with the Wind technology.
Showcasing Autonomous Control
Today we are sharing a video showcasing the way our Portable Wind Turbine applies our proprietary technology to autonomously control the rotor RPM to ensure that the optimum wind speed to tip speed ratio is maintained. This is done to ensure that we are capturing the maximum power possible from the kinetic energy provided by the wind. That is a lot of technical speak for what we refer to as “Dancing With the Wind.”
USAF Base of the Future virtual showcase wrap up
The AFWERX Fusion 2020 Showcase - building the Base of the Future - is now in the books and we want to share what a great experience Uprise Energy had sharing our Portable Wind Turbine with the US Air Force, the US Department of Defense, US Allied Forces from around the world and other innovative companies that were invited to the Showcase.
